F.A.Q. – Frequently Asked Questions

Please look over our online Frequently Asked Questions section, or Contact Us for more information on our state of the art window tinting services, materials and installation techniques.

  • Do tinted windows need special cleaning products?

Not all window films are created equal. With Vista and Llumar products, you can use any over the counter glass cleaning products once the 30-day curing period is over.

  • How shiny is your tint?

Unless someone requests a highly reflective film, most films we install for residential and small commercial applications are designed with very low reflectivity. Even clear glass reflects at certain times of day at particular angles, and window film reacts similarly.

  • Is the film very dark?

Our most popular films are neutral in appearance and will not make the outdoors look gray. Please look at our online light transmission examples to get an idea of the tints.

  • Why not tint my own windows?
  • Does the film scratch very easily?

Special scratch resistant coatings on Vista products stand up well to normal every day wear and tear, and make cleaning and maintenance trouble free.

  • How long will my tint last in terms of aging?

Vista products use a clear distortion-free adhesive system that has been specially designed for years of performance in demanding commercial and residential applications. They are also backed by a manufacturers’ lifetime written warranty for residential applications and a 10 year warranty for commercial.

  • Will my tint discolor?

The metal alloys used in Vista window films are highly color stable. There are no dyes or pigments put in the film, so there is nothing to change color.

  • Will my tint discolor?

Yes. Vista window film screens out over 99% of damaging ultraviolet rays to help protect your fabrics, furniture, rugs and artwork.

  • Will window tinting kill my plants?

On the contrary, most plants do better with window film, because they don’t “burn” on sunny days.
